Are California almonds organic?

All California almonds — which would be virtually all the almonds in the country — are either heat-pasteurized or treated with a fumigant. The processes, which have been required by law since 2007, are intended to prevent foodborne illness.
Should you buy walnuts organic?

Non-organic nuts are treated with synthetic chemicals, such as pesticides and fertilizers. If you want the highest quality nutrients, it’s worth the extra cost to buy organic, raw nuts. It’s also recommended that you buy organic as much as possible when purchasing cashews, peanuts, and pistachios.
