What is Texas rent relief?
The Texas Rent Relief program was created by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) to provide Texas tenants with financial assistance for rent and utility bills (including past due rent and utilities). TDHCA began accepting applications from landlords and tenants on February 15, 2021.

What documents are needed for Texas rent relief?
Government-issued or personal ID for at least one household member on the lease. Copy of lease agreement, or if no written lease agreement, rent receipt for the three most recent complete month paid by the tenant to establish a pattern of paying rent. Notice of late rent payment OR notice to evict, if applicable.
