Why is it important to write persuasively?
Why teach persuasive writing? As children mature as writers, it’s important to give them the opportunity to write using a variety of formats. Persuasive writing helps students formulate specific reasons for their opinions, and provides an opportunity to research facts related to their opinions.
Where do we use persuasive writing?
The most common place we see persuasive writing is in advertising. Sometimes it’s the short text of a television advertisement, telling us how much better our lives will be if we buy a particular product. Other times it might be the lengthier ‘advertorials’ – ads disguised as article – in newspapers or magazines.
